Emily Ursa is an English born illustrator and painter now creating work from her forest home in Portugal. Having graduated from the Arts University in Bournemouth, she undertook a journey, discovering both a passion for painting and dip-pen ink illustrations, but most of all a deep love for publishing and story-telling.

Inspired by the stories and books of her childhood, when not being commissioned she illustrates and publishes her own short stories. Her work focuses on the entanglement between nature, animals and existence, often playing with perception and fantastical elements as well as personal illustrated accounts of her life in the forest.

She has been immensely active in the UK independent publishing scene, releasing seven self-published works and contributing to a number of independent comic book anthologies.

When not creating art, she can be found with her cats, wandering overgrown paths or pouring over books.
